1. When and where do I register?
Registration for Spring Baseball usually opens around Dec 1 on the Fallston Rec Registration site.
2. Where are the baseball fields?
Here is a link to the Field Maps page. Other fields per age group can be found on your individual In-House or Travel webpage. Forms and Information can be found on the Information page.
3. When should I expect to hear from my child’s coach?
Commissioners set up the teams and schedules during the first two weeks of March. You can then expect to hear from your child’s coach sometime mid-March. By rule, in-house teams are not able to use the fields until April 1st.
3. How long is the season?
In-house practices start the week of April 1st. Play ends mid June.
1. What are the time / commitment requirements for playing travel?
Playing travel requires play on Weekends & Holidays. Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, 4th of July.
Travel Coaches put a lot of time and effort into their Travel teams so make sure you are 100% committed before you agree to play.
Travel teams usually practice 1-2 week nights and have double header games on Saturday or Sunday – not both unless involved in a tournament. Travel teams do not play our in-house rec program. Check with your age group travel coach for the specific schedule.
2. What kind of Travel is involved?
League games are played against teams in Harford County, and are played in Harford County.
Most Tournaments are local with some exceptions…
Some travel teams will also enter out-of-state tournaments which might require lodging and overnight stays. Hershey and Ocean City are two examples. Discuss this with your coach before committing to a team.
3. How much does it cost to play travel?
The answer varies by age, coach, and number of tournaments played, but ballparks anywhere from $300-$500. Some teams do fundraising to off set costs. Keep in mind each player must pay $90 to Fallston Rec to sign up. This in addition to travel fees.
4. When does the Travel Season start & end?
Most teams begin workouts in Nov/Dec to prepare for tryouts in Jan. The season Begins April 1 (15U begins May 15) and all divisions will end the season by July 15th. The younger divisions usually end after the 4th of July tournament.
5. How do we tryout?
Travel workout and tryout information will be posted on this website well before tryouts. Workout information Nov/Dec before tryouts in Jan. You can also contact your travel coach. Contact info for each travel coach under the Travel menu on each respective age groups travel page.
